Developing Ethical and Engaged Men

CMEI Colloquium
Larsen Hall, Harvard Graduate School of Education
March 30, 2017

It’s difficult to be a good man these days—there is enormous pressure to be otherwise. But there is much to be learned from young men (ages 18-22) who resist those negative pressures, who are trying to be good people and good citizens, to be caring, compassionate, just, and fair. The goal of this project is to explore and understand the developmental histories of ethical and engaged men--particularly those who are privileged in multiple ways--and how families, schools, and communities can encourage, nurture, and support them.
